12-Month Sofa Warranty
Quality You Can Trust
At Sofa Direct, we believe that buying a new sofa should be an investment in comfort, style, and long-term reliability. Every sofa we sell is carefully selected and manufactured to meet high standards of quality, craftsmanship, and durability.
To give our customers complete confidence in their purchase, all new sofas purchased directly from Sofa Direct are covered by our 12-Month Warranty, effective from the date of delivery.
This warranty protects against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship that may arise during normal domestic use. It reflects our commitment to customer satisfaction and our confidence in the products we supply.
This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under UK consumer law and does not affect any rights available to you under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation.
What Our 12-Month Warranty Covers
Our warranty is designed to cover genuine manufacturing and structural defects that occur under normal household use.

The internal frame is the foundation of every sofa. If a manufacturing fault causes the frame to fail during the warranty period, we will investigate and provide an appropriate solution.
Covered defects may include:
- Structural frame failures
- Manufacturing defects affecting frame stability
- Faulty frame construction
- Defects in load-bearing components
- Separation or failure of frame joints caused by manufacturing issues
Recliner Mechanism Protection
For manual and electric recliner sofas, the warranty covers manufacturing faults affecting the operation of the reclining mechanism.
Covered defects may include:
- Faulty manual recliner mechanisms
- Defective electric recliner systems
- Malfunctioning recliner controls supplied with the sofa
- Manufacturing defects affecting reclining performance
- Faults in factory-installed electrical components
Spring and Support System Protection
The comfort and support of a sofa depend heavily on its internal suspension system.
Our warranty covers:
- Broken springs caused by manufacturing defects
- Defective support systems
- Structural faults affecting seating support

Our sofas are manufactured to high upholstery standards. Where defects arise due to workmanship issues, they may be covered under warranty.
Coverage may include:
- Faulty stitching caused by manufacturing defects
- Upholstery assembly defects
- Manufacturing faults affecting upholstery integrity
- Defects in factory-installed upholstery components

Normal Wear and Tear
All upholstered furniture naturally changes over time as it settles into everyday use.
The following are considered normal characteristics and are not covered under warranty:
- Cushion softening
- Compression of foam fillings
- Natural settlement of seating materials
- Fabric flattening
- Leather softening
- Minor upholstery creasing
- Gradual changes in comfort levels
- General signs of daily use
These changes are expected and do not indicate a manufacturing defect.
Natural Characteristics of Upholstery Materials
Many of our sofas are upholstered using premium materials that naturally vary in appearance and texture.
The following are not considered faults:
- Variations in fabric texture
- Differences in fabric weave
- Natural leather markings
- Leather grain variations
- Shade differences between production batches
- Natural wrinkles in leather
- Minor stitching variations
- Slight differences in dimensions within accepted manufacturing tolerances
These characteristics contribute to the individuality and authenticity of each sofa.
Leather Sofas
Genuine leather is a natural material and will develop character over time.
As leather ages, customers may notice:
- Softening of the leather surface
- Natural stretching
- Development of a patina
- Changes in texture
- Light creasing in seating areas
These are natural characteristics of genuine leather and should not be considered defects.
Where products are described as genuine leather, leather may be used on seating and contact areas, with matching materials used on non-contact sections where appropriate.
Fabric Sofas
Fabric upholstery may display slight variations in:
- Colour tone
- Texture
- Pile direction
- Weave pattern
- Stitching appearance
Depending on the fabric type, shading and texture changes may occur when the fabric is brushed or used regularly. These characteristics are normal and are not considered manufacturing faults.
